Make your party UNIQUE

You can start Face painting with a simple idea and few colour up to very complex designs. The starting point is to buy your basic kit, a sponge and a few brushes.
A good idea initially while you are learning, is to have a good size photo of someone already painted up. Then you can simply follow the photo. Generally, sketching the outlines of what you are doing will help keep you on track with your overall effect..

Face Paints: The face paint itself is going to be applied to skin so it has to conform to European Regulations, and your best start is to buy the 8 or 10 colour trays available on line.
Some of the more special effects are obtained using paints with glitter or opalescence so that they glow under the lighting on a dance floor.

Brushes and sponges:
Your brush will have to be of good quality and soft enough to apply to a child's skin
You'll want 2 or 3 different sizes some for painting large area and others for fine detail.

For blending 2 area together needs an angled flat brush.
Larger are are best handled with a sponge.
Sponges have the advantage of being cuttable so you could cut one to s suitable shape for your painting. Stipple sponges allow you to apply a special effect.

Working with the face paint:
Because all the paints are water based, they are safe, and are similar to the water colours you used to use in primary school when you probably first leaned to paint. So you are mainly working with water and the paints themselves.
You can alter the strength of a colour simply by adding more water.

Removing your face paint:
At the end of the party or when your child has had enough, its simply a matter of washing off the paints with water and soap, and your are free to start again.
