Here are some simple steps for your face painting designs to have great impact.
1. Avoid the Wrong paint
Use only british standard approved face paints. Allergic reaction is rare whereas other paints cause rashes.. Be careful when applying near the eyes. Wash brushes and sponges in hot water, never alcohol or detergents, as these can cause allergic reaction.
2. Colours run
Allow one colour to dry totally before applying the next . Thoroughly clean brush or sponge in hot water before applying another color.
3. The base color is streaked
Use less water to thin the paint. Be sure to use quality face paints.
4. Painting dark colors first
You will not be able to fix errors when adding lighter colour on top without wiping clean that area and starting again.
So start with the lightest colors working down to the darkest colors. Now you can paint over any small mistakes.
5. Detail is too thick
Design has lost its look because shapes and lines are in the wrong thickness.
So for fine detail use a thin brush. Use a minimum of three brushes in face painting - thin, medium and large.
6. Face paint is not staying on skin
Thoroughly clean face with a wipe to remove any grimel. And use a make up band to keep hair off the face. Use the best quality face paints you can afford.
7. Face paint cracks
Use face paint in a thin layer. You can apply another layer to build up color density.
